I vividly remember first arriving in Chengdu in 2005 and not knowing a word of Chinese. After stepping off the plane and onto the tarmac in Chengdu, I felt like I was catapulted into a place that I didn’t know or understand. If only back then there was a place where I could easily explore places in the city that others were discovering at the same time.
Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in Southwestern China, is among the fastest growing cities in the world. With a population of 12 million people, Chengdu has a history of thousands of years and is known for panda bears, Sichuan cuisine, and being the most laid back major city in China.
