Ant Breakfast Cafe

Ant Breakfast Cafe is a small restaurant tucked away in a corner of the Yulin neighborhood in the South of Chengdu. Located a stones throw away from the Wangfu Garden Residential Complex, Ant serves an assortment of Western and Chinese breakfast and snack foods. Tea and coffee is somewhat of a specialty at Ant, but perhaps the most striking thing about this location is the atmosphere and environment. Tall plants and vintage decor populate the inside of the restaurant and everything feels very modern and airy. Ant also often boasts a great soundtrack, including downtempo and trip hop music which is great to lounge and have a conversation to.

Coffee and tea at Ant start around 20 yuan and entrees are 30 yuan and up. There is no minimum purchase, but this is definitely a higher class establishment and is priced appropriately.

Address: 武侯区玉林西路165号附16号

Hours: Open daily from 11am until 8pm

Nice environment, very cozy and quiet. They serve mostly pastry, some choices of pizza and pasta. I ordered the only breakfast dish (continental) I found on the menu but then I was told the chef never scramble egg and so I walked to the kitchen and got confirmed… a cup of americano costs 35, so I would say this is not exactly a cheap place in chengdu.

Definitely not cheap – as you say, the coffee is particularly expensive, for some reason. Still, I love this place. Great atmosphere.
