Blue Caribbean Plaza

Located along Kehua Bei Lu in the South of Chengdu, Blue Caribbean Plaza hosts a handful of bars and restaurants including many popular foreigner establishments like Cafe Paname, Jellyfish, and Buzz Bar among others. Over the years the roster of bars and restaurants catering to local expats has changed a bit but in general, this is the go-to hang out location for the college-aged crowd in Chengdu. Top 40 music like Justin Bieber and Black Eyed Peas blare from the Jellyfish cocktail bar late into the night on weekends on the second floor.

Beneath all the foreigner commotion on the second floor, Chinese restaurants are densely packed into the ground level below. In the summertime, hundreds of Chinese diners can be seen eating under the stars. You can’t really see the stars, but you get the idea.

Expect to pay a premium for nightlife in this area, since these bars cater directly to foreign males (and the Chinese women who bring them out).

Address in Chinese: 成都科华北路蓝色加勒比广场

Address in English: Kehua Beilu Lanse Jialebi Square

Hours: Open everyday, until very late on weekends

Good place for children’s birthday parties. Lots of lights, colors, noise. Spoiled brats. The whole package.
