Myeongdong Korean Restaurant

The Myeongdong Korean Restaurant, located on Yulin Nanlu within the Yulin Life Plaza complex, was opened in late 2012 by a Korean couple hailing from Seoul. Specializing in Korean fried chicken, this restaurant is as tiny as it is popular: although the capacity of this restaurant is limited to just four tables and 16 people, it’s frequently packed at dinnertime. Patrons clink shot classes of Soju, the traditional Korean liquor, over baskets of fried chicken with a variety of dipping sauces.

Myeongdong delivers locally within Yulin for free. The phone number to call for delivery is 139-8065-1861.

For a Korean restaurant in Chengdu, prices are very reasonable at Myeongdong. For two diners at dinnertime expect to pay around 100-150 yuan including drinks (beer or the more traditional Korean soju). Delivery within Yulin is free.

Great little place! Try the garlic sauce or the sweet and spicy dip! And don’t forget the Korean pickles to go with your chicken.

Easily the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in China. I really enjoyed the Garlic (大蒜) Chicken and the BBQ, which was actually more of a sweet chili sauce.

I went there a couple of weeks ago, they said they were closing from that day. So unlucky!

I was there just recently (maybe the 19th?) and they were still frying it up. Damn good chicken. They even gave me an order out menu. No impression they were closing. Anyone confirm?

Outside that the service was stellar and the food amazing. The owner was super kind and even through in a drink and roll.

Story is they’ve changed owners. Same awesome chicken but a new selection of dishes, including soups and noodles. Amazing service and great food. Can get your fill for about 40元. Not as cheap as your next door noodle shop, but entirely worth it if you’re wanting something different.

Well put. I’m overjoyed that this place remains in business. The chicken there is as tasty as ever.

Hit this place last night. Good food, good value. Two people = 110 kuai, including 2 beers, two coleslaws, sushi, obligatory kimchi and chicken. I think they may have given us some freebies. Easy directions: below Music House.
