Chunxi Road Shopping District

Chunxi Road is the main shopping strip in Chengdu. The pedestrian street is just east of the Mao Statue on Tianfu Square and is lined with big and small name retail shops selling mostly clothes and accessories. Several shopping and eating streets branch out from this main strip and some of the city’s finest street food and cheap clothing outlets are hidden in and around this part of the city. Chunxi Road is also known as a good spot to people watch with a cone of Haagen-Dazs ice cream.

Prices

There is a mixture of high- and low-end shopping here so prices range from super cheap to astronomical. Most of the really high-end shops are in air conditioned malls nearby or in other parts of town. Chunxi Road is more or less a nice stroll with tons of food, thousands of people and some decent shopping.

We have shopped there. Prices are good. lots to see and experience. Some clothing items are 1/2 of what we pay in Canada. Good food places to eat. Tons of shops. Take your time and stroll down the street.

You might want to look online for these, perhaps somewhere like Taobao.

Go to Wenshu monastery. Outside, there is a shopping lane. A lot of shops sell the silk stuff. I was lucky to find a shop where I could bargain and get brocade silk stole for 200-250RMB
