Natooke Bicycle Shop

Natooke Bicycles specializes in fixed gear bicycles and is the first such shop founded and managed by foreigners in Chengdu. Natooke doesn’t sell pre-built bicycles and each bicycle is custom built to order, depending on specifications which you determine along with a consultant in the shop. If you’re 2 meters tall or want a bike that’s built for a specific purpose, Natooke has you covered.

Select from a rainbow of available colors to create your own unique bike which doesn’t look like anyone else’s. Bike locks, helmets, pollution masks, and other cycling accessories are available here as well.

In addition to bike sales, Natooke also offers bike rentals and hosts weekly bike polo events at the nearby Sichuan Gymnasium. On Tuesdays they lead cycling trips around the city, sometimes fully encircling Chengdu’s second ring road. For information on these and other Natooke events, follow them on Weibo.

Prices

Fixed gear bikes at Natooke start around 2,900 yuan depending on the parts you require, but everything is high quality. Each bike is built to last for many years and in no case does Natooke sell a mediocre product. Owners are usually on-site and willing to explain each part of the building process and offer guidance on meeting your specifications. For custom bicycles in Chengdu, there probably is no greater authority than Natooke.

Natooke. The map is 100% correct. Don’t try to find Xiaotian Dong Lu. Went to buy a mask but temporarily sold out. Brisk business. Larry spent a lot of time explaining the various mask options available. Also got a lecture on various bikes (especially the fixed gear type) even though I am not in the buying market. Very dedicated, knowledgeable and a great attitude.

Gavin is right, the map is correct, the given address is not. Go to xiao tian dong jie, not xiao tian dong lu. There is no xiao tian dong lu

Thanks for pointing out this mistake Gavin and Ryan – the address on this place has been corrected and is now 小天东街3号!

Great to have knowledgable, honest bike repair option in Chengdu. I used to dread getting bike repairs (150 kuai to relplace a spoke? WTF?) but now its a pleasure….

I know exactly what you mean – there’s nothing like Natooke in Western China!

Noah. Thanks for the positive appraisal. We like to think we try real hard here to have an impact and hope that more and more people join us in riding bicycles. No matter where you might be, we just want more bikes and less cars!

I was so much touched with this venture. i really liked your idea of venturing in bikes, the different colours of bikes.

Am a Ugandan from,East Africa i got to know you and your bikes from a Chinese television channel CCTV documentary.

i would like to know more about this venture and probably set up a similar venture like that because am interested in bikes.

    Hope to here from you.

    Stopped into Nantooke today…finally.
I received fantastic, helpful recommendations from the friendly and knowledgeable owners. These guys are true bicycle lovers, but not at all haughty (sometimes, for women or non-expert men, going into a specialty bike shop is a bit like going into the worst auto repair shops- the know-it-all mechanics talk to you like you could not possibly understand mechanical things…not true here! These guys are great. I highly recommend Nantooke.)

P.S. Charlie- Please check with the guys at Nantooke. Their hours have changed: open-up a bit later and all day on Sundays.
Thanks again for your great sites…happy riding.

Thanks for your feedback, I’m glad that you had a good experience at Natooke. Their bikes aren’t cheap but they are the highest quality I’ve seen in China by a long shot, and their service and knowledge is tremendous.

I will get in touch with them and confirm their hours to make sure that the information on this page is accurate. Thanks again.
